Want me to read some good lit for you at midnight every week?
Your non-wish has been a command I been obsessing over since the SL Book Club ended!
A gift (or is it a curse?) from me to you in 2025: Every Wednesday at midnight SLT I will be reading for an hour from somewhere on the Second Life Book Club archipelago.

The initial idea was to read only short stories but when I looked over my shelf/books I read this year I could not resist sneaking in a few (new) top favorites from the novel/novella department.
Yes, of course, no need to ask because y’all knew it: Infinite Jest is on the list.
And since I have not yet decided on what section/chapter to present, if you have a favorite, please holler and let me know.

The goal is to read for a tight hour, maybe a bit over, maybe a bit under, depending on the material.
Emphasis is on indie and small presses. A focus is also on stories from outside of my own cultural background and sometimes - beautifully - they overlap, as in the case of Comma Press’ “Palestine + 100” 👇

You can hang with me or watch on YouTube. Please take note that this weekly series of events is happening on Second Life Time and you MUST convert that into your local timezone because a timezone challenged individual like myself must NOT be held responsible for folks missing these … please no hate DMs, I am just a lonely reading semi-famous virtual personality influencer what not ….
See above the first event 👆where I will be in a blue tunnel on SLBC island #2, reading from the excellent “Assisted Living” by Roberto Ontiveros and NO I was NOT bribed by the King of All Publishing, Rick Harsch, proprietor of the amazing outfit corona\samizdat please check the full playlist so far as proof I am NOT ONLY reading books he published … I swear to the Ghost of Roberto Arlt 😅 no no no ….

That is it folks! I hope you have a good transition into the new year with lots of great reads lined up and if you don’t go to corona\samizdat and buy some right now… ok ok ok Rick made me type this I ADMIT IT!
But seriously: have a tip for good shorts in any genre? Something “off the beaten tracks” (no Stephen King please!)?

Please type your recommendation in the comments below and I promise I will look into it and perhaps we expand this series and have YOU read? And if you are an author why not NOMINATE YOURSELF?
See you in-world …
I do have a tip. Short stories by an author from the time of Dangerous liasons and just as vicious with a touch of Baudelaire and Poe: Les Diaboliques/ She-devils from Jules Barbey d'Aurevilly.
Yep
